About This Role
- Own testing and validation of Cisco's Optical technology products deployed by leading global service providers and web customers.
- Develop and execute test strategies using Python automation and industry-standard traffic generators/analyzers (e.g., Spirent, IXIA).
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a technical community across the business unit.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in Optical technologies (DWDM, OTN) and associated test automation with Python.
- Experience with traffic generators/analyzers such as Spirent, IXIA, JDSU, Viavi, Agilent for Layer-0 and Layer-1 testing.
- Work Experience Required: Typically 5-6 years relevant experience with MS/BS in EE/CS.
- Good understanding of customer deployments and ability to develop test strategies for brownfield/greenfield scenarios; familiarity with Linux and software debugging tools.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced test engineer specialized in Optical transport technologies and network testing automation.
- Comfortable operating at the intersection of software and hardware testing for complex network systems (IOS-XR based).
- Strong background in test planning, design, execution, and mentoring within a collaborative engineering environment.
