About This Role
- Lead the technical vision and architecture for Procore's foundational platform services supporting complex construction workflows across multiple product platforms (web, mobile, API, agentic surfaces).
- Drive company-wide architectural direction, standards, and resolve high-ambiguity technical challenges before blocking engineering progress.
- Define and evangelize Procore’s AI-native engineering approach, integrating generative tools and agentic workflows into the SDLC and product systems, while mentoring engineering leadership and maintaining hands-on involvement for critical initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with large-scale, distributed, full-stack systems; proven technical leadership at Principal level or equivalent with organization-wide scope.
- Deep expertise in modern tech stacks (e.g. Ruby on Rails, Go, Java, Node.js, Python, React, TypeScript) and distributed systems design with focus on resilience and scalability.
- Experience architecting AI-native engineering systems, including agentic systems, LLM integration, and AI-assisted developer tooling in production environments.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Principal Engineer or Lead System Architect experienced in enterprise SaaS platforms or microservices ecosystems.
- Senior engineer with expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and micro front-end architectures relevant to full-stack development.
- Technical leader with proven ability to architect agentic AI workflows or LLM-integrated platforms, able to translate strategy into scalable platform roadmaps and communicate effectively to executives.
