About This Role
- Designs service boundaries and leads architectural decisions including microservices vs modular monolith trade-offs and event-driven design strategies.
- Owns performance optimization covering database queries, caching, connection pools, JVM tuning, and deployment pipelines using Helm and GitOps (ArgoCD).
- Drives team quality gates, observability setup (SLOs, logging, tracing), resilience patterns, security practices, and mentors junior developers.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with demonstrable ownership of complex backend systems.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, or Information Science/Software Engineering.
- Proficient in Java (versions 11, 17, 21), Spring Boot, Quarkus, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, REST, gRPC, GraphQL.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps, testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito), and security best practices including OAuth2/OIDC.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in designing and operating backend systems at ~100 microservice scale with deep understanding of architectural trade-offs and maintenance costs.
- Comfortable balancing pragmatic delivery with clean architecture, advocating quality gate strategies at team level.
- Capable of leading incident response, mentoring mid/junior developers, and judiciously leveraging AI-assisted coding tools to improve team velocity.
