About This Role
- Own the technical vision and development of core AI/ML/LLM-based search algorithms for Caterpillar's eCommerce platform focused on aftermarket parts and services.
- Lead and mentor a team of search engineers to build scalable, high-performance search capabilities with measurable KPIs like CTR and query distribution.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance search features including NLP, vector search, personalization, and behavior-based models to improve user search experience and relevance.
Minimum Requirements
- Work Experience Required: Typically 5+ years in advanced data analysis and machine learning applications, preferably with search AI/ML models in industrial/manufacturing parts domains.
- Technical Skills: Extensive Python programming; experience with ML platforms, MLOps, cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP); knowledge of building and tuning search and recommendation algorithms including Learning-to-Rank, LambdaMART, Deep Ranking models.
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Applied Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
- Visa Sponsorship: Not available for India-based candidates.

- Deep expertise in deploying large-scale industrial search AI/ML models with a focus on eCommerce and aftermarket parts or manufacturing data.
- Strategic leadership capability in defining and implementing technical vision for scalable search platforms while guiding technical teams.
- Strong experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams, proficient in cloud technologies, version control (GitHub), and advanced statistical methods for business decision-making.
