About This Role
- Own and set the architecture and technical roadmap for TypeScript/Node.js or Python backend systems across multiple teams, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Define and enforce engineering standards for API design, data management, reliability, security, observability, testing, and AI-first engineering models; certify teams and manage exceptions.
- Lead by example through hands-on coding, managing large-scale migrations and upgrades, resolving critical incidents, mentoring senior engineers, and shaping hiring standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required.
- At least 11 years of professional software development experience in TypeScript and Node.js or Python, including 5 years in system architecture across multiple systems.
- Minimum 3 years owning engineering standards beyond own team and mentoring senior engineers.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams across different time zones and with product/business stakeholders internationally.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Technically expert in backend development (TypeScript/Node.js or Python) with strong knowledge of frontend (React) full-stack conventions and systems design.
- Experienced in setting and enforcing high engineering standards across multiple domains including API design, data architecture, cloud platforms, observability, security, and AI-first engineering.
- Proven leader influencing engineering practices and hiring at senior levels, able to collaborate internationally and drive large-scale technical and organizational change.
