About This Role
- Own the architecture and set the technical roadmap for TypeScript/Node.js or Python systems spanning multiple teams.
- Maintain engineering standards for API design, data, reliability, security, observability, and testing, and certify teams against these.
- Lead incident responses, large scale migrations/upgrades, and define AI-first engineering practices integrating models and frameworks like Claude Code.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience mandatory.
- 11 years professional software development experience with TypeScript and Node.js or Python; includes 5 years architectural experience across multiple systems; 3 years owning engineering standards used beyond own team and mentoring senior engineers.
- Experience working in globally distributed teams and collaborating across time zones with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
- Strong expertise in backend languages (TypeScript/Node.js or Python) with knowledge of the alternate; experience with AWS or GCP production services and infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Senior engineer or technical leader with extensive experience in architecting complex backend-heavy full-stack systems and defining cross-team technical standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large scale technical change and incident management, and to establish engineering best practices organization-wide.
- Experience working in distributed, cross-regional teams with strong communication skills to align technical and business goals across diverse stakeholders.
