About This Role
- Lead architecture, scaling, and full ownership of PostgreSQL database infrastructure for complex, high-throughput applications.
- Design and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, ensuring system resilience and optimal performance.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives including mentoring, backend collaboration, and integration of emerging AI/ML and NoSQL technologies.
Minimum Requirements
- 8-12+ years of hands-on professional experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.
- Expertise in replication strategies, HA architectures, disaster recovery planning, and managing cloud/on-prem PostgreSQL infrastructure (RDS, Aurora, Cloud SQL).
- Proficiency in at least one backend or scripting language (Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or Bash) for automation and CI/CD integration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and AWS EC2 for deploying and tuning self-hosted PostgreSQL clusters including storage and network configurations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven ability to lead large-scale database projects independently from conception to production with high-level architectural decision-making.
- Experienced in complex problem-solving and root-cause analysis within infrastructure and database performance issues.
- Familiar with integrating databases with AI/ML technologies and exploring new tech stacks, particularly with background in cloud environments and advanced database features.
