Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Lead architecture and optimization of self-service observability frameworks to ensure reliable, resilient, and cost-effective distributed systems at scale.
- Drive definition and automated enforcement of SLOs/SLIs and implement performance and FinOps observability metrics for autonomous product team operations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Infrastructure, and Engineering leadership to build transparent cost management models and mentor junior engineers.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of professional software development and systems engineering experience focusing on Observability, SRE, or FinOps.
- Expertise in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, Python, or C++.
- Deep knowledge of modern observability frameworks (OpenTelemetry), high-cardinality telemetry data management, and practical experience with SLOs and SLIs in large-scale distributed systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in building scalable, opinionated developer tools and self-service observability platforms impacting entire engineering organizations rather than one-off solutions.
- Strong cross-functional collaborator capable of aligning engineering observability efforts with Finance and business stakeholders through transparent cost and performance models.
- Technically fluent in performance optimization, FinOps observability, telemetry data processing, and automated platform tooling using languages like Golang or Python.
