About This Role
- Own and lead development of the Expedia Group Data Quality Platform, ensuring operational excellence and integration with other data tools.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers while managing moderately complex systems and team-level project quality assurance.
- Identify and solve business problems related to data quality within the team, driving testing, monitoring, and alerting frameworks.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years professional Java development experience with strong OOP and Java framework skills (Spring, Hibernate, JPA).
- Experience with databases and SQL, version control (preferably Git), and agentic coding using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Co-Pilot).
- Work Experience Required: 3 years of Java development experience.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced individual contributor who can lead moderately complex projects and mentor junior engineers effectively.
- Strong technical background in Java-based microservices, RESTful APIs, and familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps tools is advantageous.
- Operates with a clear understanding of business needs, capable of advocating for software quality and operational metrics at the team level.
