About This Role
- Lead the technical migration and modernization of existing data pipelines ensuring incremental migration with no change to existing outputs.
- Design and implement sustainable engineering processes including testing, code reviews, incident management, and release management for data pipelines.
- Provide architectural leadership and hands-on engineering using Airflow, Spark, dbt, BigQuery, and Python, while mentoring a Data Engineer for long-term pipeline ownership.
Minimum Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience, including minimum 5 years in data engineering roles.
- Deep hands-on experience with Airflow, Spark, dbt, BigQuery, and Python.
- Proven experience leading at least one complete data pipeline migration, with refactoring producing unchanged outputs.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in managing complex data pipeline migrations with strong emphasis on data integrity and output consistency.
- Ability to establish and enforce engineering best practices covering testing, code reviews, and incident management.
- Track record of mentoring junior engineers with measurable productivity or quality improvements.
