About This Role
- Design and build big data processing platforms handling tens of billions of daily transactions serving thousands of clients.
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and matching system updates.
- Operate production environments, investigate issues, and develop scalable data-driven products and APIs.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of programming experience including coding and object-oriented or functional programming.
- 2+ years experience with distributed systems such as Airflow, DBT, BigQuery, Spark, Kafka Connect/Streams, or Kinesis, and building data pipelines at scale.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with distributed data stores like BigQuery/Snowflake.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience mentoring and growing diverse teams of data engineers in a technical leadership role.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with distributed system technologies and big data processing frameworks.
- Comfortable working in cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform) with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and familiarity with DevOps practices.
