About This Role
- Integrate AOSP or custom Android ROMs with physical device hardware including camera, microphone, sensors, modem, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
- Work on hardware bring-up, firmware, and device driver integration to ensure proper device boot and operation.
- Collaborate with ODM/OEM and chipset vendors to troubleshoot hardware and firmware compatibility and optimize power and performance.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience with Android platform, Board Support Packages (BSP), or embedded Linux development.
- Strong understanding of Android Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and hardware integration processes.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming and understanding of Linux kernel and device drivers (critical).
- Experience debugging firmware and hardware integration issues.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Has hands-on experience integrating custom Android ROMs with smartphone hardware at a firmware and driver level.
- Familiar with working alongside smartphone manufacturers (ODM/OEM) and chipset vendors to resolve hardware/software interoperability.
- Demonstrated capability in optimizing device power consumption and hardware performance in embedded Android environments.
