Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Define and specify advanced 4G/5G/NTN RAN feature behavior and baseband requirements per 3GPP TS 36 and 38-series standards.
- Translate system requirements into scalable RAN architectures including DU/CU splits and interfaces and optimize performance via monitoring KPIs and capacity planning.
- Develop test cases, validate new RAN features in lab and support field trials; troubleshoot, root cause analyze, and implement corrective actions for system failures.
Minimum Requirements
- B.E./M.Tech/Ph.D. in ECE or CS.
- 5+ years experience in 3GPP L1/L2 stack development for 5G NR and NB‑IoT including NTN extensions (Rel‑17/18/19).
- Expertise in PHY/MAC/RLC/PDCP layers for NR and NB‑IoT with NTN features such as large RTT, Doppler compensation, and extended HARQ timelines.
- Hands‑on experience with real-time baseband/embedded stack development optimized for low latency, multithreading, and memory efficiency.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong RAN system design, integration, testing, performance tuning, and debugging experience specifically on gNB/eNB platforms.
- Deep understanding of RU–L1, L1–L2, and L2–L3 interfaces and 3GPP/O‑RAN functional splits (e.g., 7.2x, F1/E1).
- Inclined to leverage AI tools (code assistants, log analysers) to accelerate RAN development and debugging workflows.
