About This Role
- Design, build, and operate distributed platform services and APIs using Java and Python on Kubernetes/cloud-native infra.
- Own platform reliability, scalability, observability, including SLOs, alerting, incident response, and guide architecture decisions across microservices and event-driven systems.
- Set technical direction and best practices as a Staff engineer, mentor others, and drive adoption of emerging platform, cloud, and AI/agentic technologies.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years professional software engineering experience with strong hands-on coding in Java and Python.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud-native practices (Kubernetes, CI/CD), and data engineering (Spark).
- Strong operational excellence focus with SLO ownership, incident management, and production reliability practices.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in designing and operating large-scale distributed data platforms with deep system design and domain-oriented design skills.
- Comfortable owning high-autonomy, ambiguous technical problems in 0-to-1 new team environments and driving execution independently.
- Hands-on with integration of AI/GenAI/agentic technologies and collaborating closely with data engineers, scientists, and ML engineers on platform capabilities.
