About This Role
- Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed platform services and APIs with Java and Python on Kubernetes or equivalent cloud-native infrastructure.
- Own platform reliability, scalability, and observability with responsibility for SLOs, incident management, and continuous operational excellence.
- Set technical direction and engineering standards across multiple teams, mentor engineers, and integrate AI/GenAI capabilities into platform tooling.
Minimum Requirements
- 12+ years professional software engineering experience with strong Java and Python coding skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native engineering practices (CI/CD, Kubernetes), and Big Data technologies including Spark.
- Proven operational excellence with ownership of SLO/SLA, incident management, and production operational responsibilities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced Principal-level engineer comfortable operating autonomously in a newly formed platform organization and 0-to-1 environment.
- Strong system design and domain-oriented design skills with proven judgment balancing scalability, cost, and reliability trade-offs.
- Practitioner of integrating AI/GenAI technologies in platform services and collaborating across data engineering, ML engineering, and data science teams.
