About This Role
- Design, build, and operate distributed platform services and APIs using Java and Python on Kubernetes or similar cloud-native infrastructure.
- Own platform reliability, scalability, observability, and engineering standards including SLO/SLA, incident response, and production readiness for newly formed teams.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and ML teams to build AI and agentic-powered platform capabilities, supporting data pipelines and model-serving paths.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Java and Python.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, cloud-native engineering (CI/CD, Kubernetes), and Spark-based data engineering.
- Operational Excellence mindset including SLO/SLA ownership, incident management, and continuous improvement integrated with delivery processes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in leading technical direction and best practices without formal management, capable of mentoring and architectural guidance in platform engineering.
- Strong system design and domain-oriented design skills with proven capacity to own production code and evaluate trade-offs in large-scale systems.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a new team setting with ambiguous problems, exhibiting strong ownership and engineering judgment.
