About This Role
- Define and maintain performance baselines including SLIs, SLOs, and workload models based on production and customer behavior.
- Develop and maintain a shared performance testing framework and production-like environments to enable product team SDETs to conduct tests efficiently.
- Conduct automated performance regression checks integrated in CI/CD pipelines, analyze performance bottlenecks, and provide actionable engineering recommendations across distributed system components.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in performance, scalability, or reliability engineering/testing with proven ability in identifying and resolving production-scale bottlenecks.
- Hands-on experience with modern load-testing tools such as k6, Gatling, or Locust and strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
- Experience with observability tools (New Relic, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to diagnose issues across API, database, and queue layers.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in distributed systems and microservices architecture with strong understanding of concurrency, rate limiting, and common performance bottlenecks.
- Capable of integrating performance testing deeply into CI/CD workflows with automated metrics and trend reporting to preempt regressions.
- Able to lead and mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively across engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to influence performance-related technical decisions.
