About This Role
- Develop, release, and run large-scale backend web applications impacting DoorDash's global marketplace.
- Define backend architecture and tech stack, improving performance, scalability, reliability, and security of backend systems.
- Own projects end-to-end, run rapid experiments with product partners, and mentor junior engineers on a hybrid work setup in Hyderabad.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5+ years of industry experience with backend technology stacks.
- Proficiency in using AI coding tools throughout the software development lifecycle (design, generate code, test, monitor, release).
- Experience with service-oriented architecture, REST/gRPC APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases (Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch), and related backend technologies.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Product-focused engineer capable of balancing technical trade-offs with business impact and customer needs.
- Experience owning full project lifecycles and mentoring junior to mid-level engineers in fast-paced, scalable product environments.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model and collaborating across time zones with engineers, product managers, and business partners.
