About This Role
- Build, optimize, and maintain highly available database platforms primarily using MS SQL Server and PostGreSQL.
- Develop and continuously improve automated CI/CD pipelines for database deployments to ensure repeatability and reliability.
- Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and consultancy for database environments including data security, compliance (SOX, PCI), and maintenance.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience as a SQL Server DBA (MS SQL Server 2014 or later).
- Experience supporting PostGreSQL in enterprise environments.
- Strong skills in T-SQL, database migrations, upgrades, and high availability/disaster recovery technologies (e.g., Mirroring, Always On).
- Experience with DevOps tools like TFS/Azure DevOps Server, Octopus Deploy, and PowerShell scripting for automation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in both development and operations practices with a solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
- Skilled in automating database deployment and maintenance processes with a focus on security and compliance.
- Able to work collaboratively with product delivery and support teams to ensure operability and provide effective troubleshooting during UK business hours and on-call as required.
