Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Own and maintain the data lakehouse architecture, including pipelines that ingest and transform diverse data sources into business-ready analytical models.
- Ensure data governance, quality, security compliance, and end-to-end consistency across datasets from ingestion to delivery, handling both structured and semi-structured data at scale.
- Develop and support agent-facing MCP tools enabling AI agents to query documentation, API specs, and release history, integrating these with data pipelines using software engineering best practices including CI/CD and observability.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field.
- 5+ years of data engineering experience, preferably with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, or Spark; experience on other major clouds acceptable if willing to convert.
- Proficient in Python and SQL, including advanced pipeline and query performance optimization.
- Working knowledge of data regulation and compliance with sound judgment for legal escalation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in end-to-end ownership and leadership of data engineering projects without needing project management oversight.
- Strong engineering discipline treating data pipelines as software: automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and environment promotion.
- Familiarity with Data Lakehouse concepts, Delta Lake, and potentially exposure to data contracts, BI tools (e.g., Power BI), and AI-related data tooling (retrieval, vector search).
