About This Role
- Analyze and remediate existing mainframe (COBOL) applications for compatibility with Micro Focus Enterprise Server on AWS to support cloud migration.
- Modify and optimize JCL, batch jobs, utilities, and interfaces while documenting application dependencies and technical architecture.
- Develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications; support CICS, DB2, VSAM, IDMS data migration; collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams for AWS deployments and CI/CD implementations.
Minimum Requirements
- 6 to 8 years of experience in mainframe application development.
- Hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and Micro Focus technologies (Enterprise Developer, Enterprise Server).
- Ability to work in Agile, cross-functional project teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred but not explicitly mandatory.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced mainframe developer with proven skills in COBOL and modernization/migration projects involving Micro Focus tools and AWS cloud.
- Comfortable working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams including cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and source control tools such as GitHub is highly advantageous.
