About This Role
- Drive architecture, design, and deployment of scalable, high-throughput, low-latency distributed services and event-driven pipelines for store fulfillment and online pickup/delivery backend platforms.
- Own production excellence including troubleshooting complex incidents, root-cause analysis, and implementing resilience and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, lead architecture reviews, raise engineering standards, and collaborate with product and operations teams.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years experience designing and developing highly scalable backend applications with recent hands-on Java (Spring/Spring Boot) microservices development at Staff engineer level.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts such as event-driven design, fault isolation, retries/timeouts, consistency, and resiliency.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field with 4+ years experience, OR 6+ years experience without degree; Master’s degree plus 2+ years experience preferred.
- Work Experience Required: 10+ years; Location: Bangalore/Chennai (office-based with flexible work arrangements).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in building and operating cloud-native, event-driven backend systems at scale with Java microservices on Kubernetes, Kafka, SQL/NoSQL stores.
- Strong production troubleshooting skills with logs, metrics, tracing, profiling, and incident management experience.
- Able to apply advanced AI/GenAI tools in engineering workflows and contribute to evolving platform capabilities and developer tooling in a high-scale retail fulfillment domain.
