About This Role
- Lead architecture and maintainability of the PayPal POS iOS app, overseeing critical payment flows such as Tap to Pay on iPhone, Key In, and reader connectivity.
- Guide and manage handover of the iOS app ownership from Sweden, setting standards for build, test, and release processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and act as the incident lead for iOS app issues including release management and rollout.
Minimum Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of iOS development experience with proven ownership of a large production app.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expertise in Swift, app architecture, performance optimization, and release management.
- Experience with payment or hardware-connected apps (e.g., Tap to Pay, EMV, Core Bluetooth), and knowledge of PCI-aware design for handling sensitive payment data.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Technical leader comfortable owning complex iOS architectures and leading cross-zone teams including knowledge transfer and mentorship.
- Experienced in payment domain apps involving hardware integration and security compliance (PCI).
- Detail-oriented engineer who writes documentation (runbooks, design notes), enforces quality standards, and manages critical production releases and incidents.
