Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Own the integration and operation of power flow solvers within the product, ensuring electrical accuracy of grid capacity and interconnection studies.
- Build and maintain the capacity digital twin of the distribution grid including data integration from utility connectivity models, AMI, SCADA, and forecasting sources.
- Develop scenario, forecasting, real loading, and interconnection study capabilities for utility planners and defend results against sanctioned tools and field data.
Minimum Requirements
- BTech or MTech in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in distribution system modeling or power systems analysis with hands-on experience in one or more distribution power flow tools (e.g., OpenDSS, CYME, PowerFactory).
- Experience building or validating models from imperfect utility data and working within production software codebases under code review with testing and CI.
- Not explicitly mentioned in the JD: notice period, location requirements, or specific work authorization constraints.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in distribution grid planning with a strong background in unbalanced three-phase load flow and capacity planning processes.
- Skilled in productizing engineering study practices into scalable software tools used by utilities rather than consulting by hand.
- Demonstrates ability to rapidly develop credible grid study results from raw utility data within days and rigorously validate results against established planning tools and field data.
