About This Role
- Build and lead the Marketplace Operations engineering team in India including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and developing engineers.
- Own critical marketplace capabilities for the complete order lifecycle and lead migration from monolith to scalable microservices.
- Drive system reliability, scalability, and operational health through incident management and continuous improvement while collaborating with global teams on roadmaps and priorities.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years experience in building and managing web applications and backend services in production.
- 3+ years managing engineering teams with experience in hiring and talent development.
- Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with monolith decomposition, microservices, API/event design, and production system management including incident management and observability.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL), Docker, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD environments.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven track record of building or scaling engineering teams from the ground up, comfortable with technical leadership and hands-on development.
- Experience managing legacy to modern system transitions with a focus on scalable, independent services and event-driven architectures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and global teams to influence technical direction, architecture, and operational priorities.
