About This Role
- Lead database administration for cloud environments (Azure, GCP) focusing on SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases with 24x7 L2/L3 support responsibility.
- Plan, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot high-availability database solutions including backups, restores, recovery models, and disaster recovery setups.
- Perform root cause analysis, update knowledge base and runbooks, and coordinate with cross-functional teams for problem resolution and continuous service improvement.
Minimum Requirements
- 7+ years overall operational experience including 3+ years as a cloud DBA in Azure and GCP environments with SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Experience supporting diverse cloud database environments in a 24x7 production support model.
- B.Tech/BE/MCA in Information Technology or equivalent experience; Azure fundamentals certification (AZ-900) and Google Cloud Engineer certification are required.
- Experience with SQL Server (2008/2012 and above), PostgreSQL, SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL; scripting experience in Python or PowerShell preferred.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for cloud-based relational databases with strong troubleshooting skills under 24x7 support scenarios.
- Capable of working independently on projects and proofs of concept with ability to multi-task and handle rapid context-switching.
- Has certifications in cloud databases (Azure DP-300, AWS Database Specialty) and demonstrates strong communication related to reporting abnormalities and critical issues.
