Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Lead research and development of novel algorithms in robot learning, control, and planning with strong integration of perception and action for physical robots.
- Responsible for deploying, evaluating, and iterating robot policies on physical hardware addressing sim-to-real gaps, uncertainty, and safety.
- Build complete end-to-end robotic systems combining perception, task planning, control, and safety for manipulation, locomotion, or multi-robot settings with measurable real-world impact.
Minimum Requirements
- PhD completed or expected before joining in Robotics, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Control or related field.
- Proven record of peer-reviewed publications at leading AI, robotics, or vision conferences/journals including physical-robot validation.
- Demonstrated hands-on implementation and evaluation on physical robot systems; simulation-only experience is insufficient.
- Strong programming skills in Python and PyTorch or JAX, plus practical experience with C++, ROS/ROS2, and robotics simulators like MuJoCo or Isaac Sim.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Deep research expertise in at least two among reinforcement learning, imitation learning, control, task/motion planning, world/VLA models, or embodiment with demonstrated physical hardware results.
- Experience translating ambitious research into reproducible, deployable physical robot capabilities with rigorous evaluation and demonstration.
- Track record of scientific leadership through high-impact publications, open-source contributions, patents, or technology transfer in robotics and AI.
