About This Role
- Own quality validation of IOS XR routing and Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) capabilities including test strategy design, automation development, and complex customer scenario validation.
- Troubleshoot system-level issues, analyze telemetry and logs, and deliver data-driven release recommendations to ensure production readiness.
- Mentor junior engineers, improve test frameworks, integrate AI-assisted tools, and collaborate cross-functionally on product-quality risk communication.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related technical field.
- 4 to 8 years of experience in software engineering, network product testing, test automation, or quality engineering.
- Strong knowledge of BNG architecture and subscriber-management technologies (PPP/PPPoE, DHCP, RADIUS, AAA, accounting).
- Advanced experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS) and strong Python programming skills for test automation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in testing Cisco IOS XR or similar carrier-grade network operating systems with BNG and routing platform expertise.
- Skilled in developing and executing system, scale, resiliency, performance, and high-availability test scenarios using automation frameworks like pyATS or Genie.
- Comfortable with modern cloud, containerization, virtualization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, OpenStack) and integrating AI coding assistants for automation and troubleshooting.
