About This Role
- Lead end-to-end design, development, testing, and delivery of complex software solutions on thinkorswim platform using Java microservices stack.
- Drive large-scale development initiatives independently from requirements through deployment and production support, including troubleshooting and incident management.
- Provide technical leadership: establish design approaches, engineering practices, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize work.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years professional experience in software development, including leading complex initiatives.
- Strong expertise in Java (including Java 21 features), Spring Boot or similar frameworks, concurrency, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience with high-transaction, distributed, mission-critical applications, and skills in automated testing, SQL, performance tuning, and secure development.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture decisions, platform modernization, and engineering standards adoption in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product owners, enterprise architecture, security, and infrastructure on scalable, resilient systems.
- Background in financial services, especially trading or brokerage platforms, with familiarity or experience on thinkorswim or similar desktop trading applications.
