Job description
Structured overview of role & requirements
About This Role
- Produce and assure solution designs for major Digital & Technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with reference architectures, enterprise standards, and delivering intended business outcomes.
- Build reliability, resilience, observability, and AI-enabled features into solutions from the start, balancing business outcome, cost, risk, and technical fit.
- Provide architecture reviews and assure supplier or managed-service solution designs meet standards, including security, compliance (including GxP), and govern architecture exceptions through Enterprise Architecture.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in technology or engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 18+ years in technology architecture or senior engineering with at least 3 years producing solution designs for major initiatives.
- Experience across multiple technology domains to design and assure end-to-end solutions, including running architecture reviews and design assurance.
- Hands-on experience designing across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS on Azure and/or GCP, with practical understanding of Modern Engineering workflows including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and AI tooling integration.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in influencing and collaborating with business domain architects in areas like R&D, Commercial, or Global Supply Chain to ensure coherent solutions.
- Proven ability to balance technical and business requirements while confidently declining designs that do not meet standards and providing constructive feedback.
- Strategic thinker with breadth over depth in technology domains, with strong judgement about when architectural exceptions are warranted and ability to engage early in ambiguous initiative shaping.
