About This Role
- Lead design and evolution of multi-workflow RCM platform capabilities including backend services, APIs, integrations, event-driven workflows, business rules, and AI automation.
- Provide technical leadership and direction across multiple initiatives, establish reusable architecture patterns, mentor engineers, and drive engineering tradeoffs across the RCM platform.
- Own software production lifecycle, improving automation, reducing manual work, and enhancing claim outcomes through scalable, maintainable solutions integrating AI and workflow orchestration.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant experience designing and operating complex production systems.
- Experience leading architecture and technical direction across multiple engineers, services, or initiatives at a senior level.
- Proficiency with backend technologies such as TypeScript and Node.js, experience building backend services, REST APIs, distributed transaction processing systems, and cloud-hosted applications (preferably AWS).
- Deep understanding and experience with asynchronous processing, queues, event-driven architectures, long-running workflow orchestration, state management, retries, recovery, and human intervention in workflows.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced technical leader capable of influencing cross-team architectural decisions and establishing reusable engineering patterns for a large-scale, complex healthcare RCM platform.
- Skilled at operating across application, platform, integration, data, security, and operational boundaries; comfortable with ambiguous, high-impact engineering decisions.
- Background or interest in healthcare revenue cycle management systems, AI-enabled automation, and implementing AI/agentic workflows with governance, evaluation, and fallback mechanisms.
