About This Role
- Own the full lifecycle of backend/distributed system problems from design to deployment, focusing on quality, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Introduce and apply new techniques, architectures, and best practices to enhance system scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
- Build tooling and observability capabilities to monitor system health, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve system instability.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of professional software engineering experience, focused on backend or distributed systems.
- Experience building and operating production-grade systems at scale in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with large-scale distributed systems using Python, Go, or Rust and microservice design involving API gateways, event streaming (Kafka/Kinesis), and container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker).
- Strong debugging, instrumentation, and observability skills in distributed systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in ownership of complex backend/distributed system challenges, balancing rapid iteration with long-term maintainability.
- Familiar with DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines, capable of working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
- Bonus: Experience building agentic AI applications leveraging LLM frameworks or startup experience as an early engineer or founder contributing to product from scratch.
