About This Role
- Own operational health of a multi-model data platform including backup/recovery, patching/upgrades, performance tuning, and scalability planning across relational, vector, and graph databases.
- Develop and maintain operational assets like templates and runbooks to reduce reliance on individual expertise.
- Provide day-to-day operational support, act as an escalation point, and evaluate new data technologies for production readiness.
Minimum Requirements
- 4-8 years hands-on database engineering or DBA experience with strong expertise in at least one traditional RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server) covering backup/recovery, performance tuning, and upgrade management at production scale.
- Working production experience with at least one non-relational database (vector databases like Milvus, Pinecone, or graph databases like Amazon Neptune, Neo4j).
- Demonstrated ability to independently learn and operationalize new database technologies without formal training or vendor support.
- Proficiency with Linux environments and scripting (Python or Bash) for automation; solid understanding of core distributed data concepts (replication, sharding, consistency, indexing).

- Experienced in scaling and troubleshooting production database systems across multiple data models including relational, vector, and graph.
- Comfortable working autonomously with minimal external support to operationalize unfamiliar database technologies quickly.
- Skilled in structured documentation and communication with technical teams and stakeholders to explain trade-offs and incident resolution.
