About This Role
- Lead and grow a platform engineering team responsible for core infrastructure systems including Data Deletion, Webscripts, Internationalisation, and Rippling Config Service.
- Own technical strategy, roadmap planning, architecture, and execution to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, maintainable, and secure.
- Partner cross-functionally with product, compliance, security, and infrastructure teams to balance short-term product needs with long-term platform investments and drive operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years managing engineering teams.
- Experience leading platform, infrastructure, developer productivity, or shared product-surface teams.
- Strong technical judgment in distributed systems, data models, APIs, reliability, and scalability.
- Work Location: Office-based work at least three days a week for employees within defined radius of Rippling office.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced engineering leader skilled at managing ambiguous, cross-functional technical charters involving multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and mentor senior engineers, driving strategic alignment and engineering quality.
- Comfortable operating both at technical architecture level and organizational leadership level in complex platform and product environments.
