About This Role
- Lead design and implementation of Caterpillar’s next-generation digital data platform focusing on big data, real-time data movement, and data warehousing.
- Establish overall data architecture strategy aligned with business goals, including governance policies, security standards, and compliance.
- Drive innovation in AI and advanced analytics by collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college/university.
- 12+ years software development experience or minimum 3 years in architecture with demonstrable expertise.
- 5+ years experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and optimizing database performance.
- Position requires working onsite full-time; relocation available.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in architecting and scaling cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure) including building large data lakes and data warehouses (Snowflake preferred).
- Strong technical skills in Python OOP, SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging systems (Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS), and real-time data pipelines for OLTP and OLAP.
- Proven leadership in medium to large-scale projects with strategic impact, plus strong understanding of AI concepts relevant to digital platforms.
