About This Role
- Build and maintain scalable backend services and platforms supporting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) use cases using Java.
- Develop and deploy production-grade RESTful APIs that improve engineering productivity and system reliability across PayPal’s SRE organization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate reliability challenges into engineering solutions and contribute to system design and architecture for scalability and maintainability.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable software applications and services.
- Strong Java programming skills and experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms.
- Work Experience Required: 3+ years software development experience.

- Experienced in building scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems in fast-paced, Agile environments.
- Familiar with Site Reliability Engineering concepts with a focus on automation and reducing operational toil.
- Able to collaborate across product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to implement reliability solutions effectively.
