About This Role
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for design and implementation of scalable, resilient distributed microservices powering Clearwater's core investment platform.
- Own API design, event-driven integrations, and ensure data integrity, security, and observability including handling sensitive financial data securely.
- Mentor engineers, track team delivery and operational health metrics, handle urgent production issues, and contribute to improving team velocity and quality.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
- 7+ years of enterprise software development experience in Java or another backend language (Python, Go).
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems with microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Experience running production systems on public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including containers, CI/CD, and observability.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced technical leader capable of guiding cross-team initiatives and mentoring engineers on complex distributed systems.
- Strong backend development skills with focus on scalability, resilience, data modeling (relational and NoSQL), APIs, and messaging/streaming technologies.
- Familiarity or interest in financial services domain and emerging AI/ML technologies applied to engineering workflows is a plus.
