About This Role
- Own end-to-end delivery of mid-size API features including design, development, configuration, and deployment on Google Apigee.
- Lead API design and governance including producing OpenAPI specs, enforcing standards, and applying Financial-grade API security and Open Banking compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to drive API quality, security posture, and delivery metrics at scale within Citi's Wealth Digital engineering team.
Minimum Requirements
- 8-10 years total work experience in product development or engineering, with 3+ years hands-on Google Apigee API design and configuration.
- Strong expertise in RESTful API design, OpenAPI 3.x specification, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and Financial-grade API (FAPI) security profiles.
- Deep understanding of Open Banking regulations (PSD2, CFPB Section 1033) and global data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Technically hands-on engineer with demonstrated ability to manage both Apigee proxy configurations and API design leadership tasks end-to-end.
- Experienced in regulated financial environments requiring compliance with Open Banking and data privacy standards.
- Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments, mentoring teams, and managing vendor/partner collaborations for API platform solutions.
