About This Role
- Design, build, and ship scalable production-grade agentic AI systems including multi-step, tool-calling agents with secure and reliable backend infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain the tool-calling layer integrating internal services, APIs, and external data sources with strict schema and error handling.
- Lead engineering standards for generative AI development, including mentoring engineers and implementing observability, LLMOps, and MLOps pipelines.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience building and operating production backend systems with distributed services, APIs, async processing, and observability.
- Proven experience deploying at least one LLM-powered application with tool/function calling into production.
- Proficiency in Python including async programming and API development frameworks (e.g., FastAPI), plus SQL; experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced backend engineer with strong skills in API design and integrating complex agent-based LLM systems in production environments.
- Familiarity with generative AI engineering patterns such as prompt design, embeddings, agent memory, and agent orchestration frameworks.
- Leadership or mentoring experience with ability to translate technical work into business value and set standards for generative AI engineering.
