About This Role
- Design, build, and maintain cloud-native Java microservices for a distributed SQL query engine integrating multiple external data sources.
- Develop and harden JDBC connector integrations including connection management, credential handling, query optimization, and security validation.
- Improve query reliability and performance across a multi-tenant distributed SQL deployment serving 50+ customers; participate in on-call and incident response.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, including operating services with Kubernetes (EKS).
- Experience with containerized microservices, distributed systems at scale, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Experience with AWS security patterns, observability tooling, and debugging production multi-service architectures.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced with designing and operating distributed query engines or SQL-on-anything platforms and JDBC driver/connector development.
- Familiar with advanced SQL query execution concepts such as parsing, planning, optimization, or execution engines.
- Skilled in building and operating microservices with secure connectivity (JDBC URL validation, SSRF prevention) in multi-tenant SaaS environments.
