About This Role
- Own end-to-end responsibility for a backend component or service including design, API (OpenAPI), test suite, monitoring, and incident management.
- Design, build, test, deploy production code every sprint with test-first approach, choosing appropriate cloud platform (AWS Lambda or Kubernetes) and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain AI-driven features using Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, mentor junior engineers, review code, and participate in technical decision-making across distributed teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years professional software development experience in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Minimum 3 years experience working with production software (testing, maintenance, launching) and 1 year in software design/architecture.
- Experience working in globally distributed teams across multiple time zones with international stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in designing scalable, reliable backend services with expertise in TypeScript, Node.js frameworks (NestJS or Fastify), and API design with OpenAPI.
- Proficient in AWS cloud services (Lambda, Kubernetes, CDK), asynchronous system design, and production monitoring with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Datadog).
- Skilled in building AI-first engineering solutions using large language models (Anthropic, OpenAI), and able to communicate technical trade-offs effectively across regions.
