About This Role
- Own and maintain a backend-heavy service or component end-to-end, including design, API, tests, monitoring, and incident response.
- Develop backend services and React-based frontend features, delivering production code each sprint with test-first practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead technical triage and post-incident reviews, and collaborate asynchronously across global teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- At least 5 years professional experience in software development using TypeScript and Node.js or Python.
- Minimum 3 years experience maintaining or shipping production software and 1 year in software design and architecture.
- Experience working in globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Deep expertise in idiomatic, strictly typed backend development with Node.js/TypeScript or Python, including runtime validation and concurrency profiling.
- Experienced in designing REST APIs with OpenAPI, database schema design for PostgreSQL/DynamoDB/MongoDB, asynchronous systems, and deploying on AWS Lambda or Kubernetes.
- Strong in test-driven development practices, observability using OpenTelemetry and Datadog, security standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect), and AI-first engineering integrating Anthropic and OpenAI APIs.
