About This Role
- Build and establish export operations capability in India including export readiness plans and cross-functional coordination.
- Own export documentation, customs compliance, HS classification, Country of Origin, Incoterms, and ensure adherence to Indian export regulations (IEC, DGFT, ICEGATE, Shipping Bills).
- Develop SOPs, controls, reporting metrics, and select/manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers; lead initial export shipments and scale operations.
Minimum Requirements
- 7-10+ years experience in export operations, international logistics, customs, or trade compliance.
- Strong hands-on experience with Indian export documentation and customs procedures; knowledge of DGFT, ICEGATE, IEC, and Shipping Bills.
- Hands-on understanding of HS/HSN classification, Country of Origin, and Incoterms.
- Experience dealing directly with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven track record of building, setting up, or significantly improving export processes beyond shipment execution.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineering product environments is preferred.
- Has managed export operations from initial shipments to a scalable operating model with established SOPs, controls, and multi-country international shipments.
