About This Role
- Own engineering execution health, delivery predictability, dependency resolution, and recovery plans across six pods.
- Manage, coach, and evaluate six Engineering Leads, overseeing performance management, hiring, succession, staffing, and development.
- Lead incident escalation handling and cross-pod recovery coordination while improving engineering practices using key metrics like lead time, defects, and automation effectiveness.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 12+ years in software engineering with substantial hands-on experience.
- At least 4+ years managing engineers or engineering leaders.
- Strong technical expertise in Java enterprise applications, Spring Boot, APIs, SQL, distributed systems, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Experience managing execution and delivery risks across multiple engineering teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Has led multiple product engineering teams through incremental modernization of live enterprise platforms.
- Experienced in developing Engineering Leads to improve delivery predictability without heavy approval layers.
- Skilled in managing high-impact production incidents and establishing sustainable escalation and on-call practices in enterprise SaaS environments with 30-50 engineers.
