About This Role
- Own design, build, standardization, automation, and capacity planning of enterprise storage and data protection platforms across SAN, NAS, object, and backup storage solutions for a leading UAE bank.
- Lead platform migrations and consolidation initiatives to reduce technology sprawl and lower total cost of ownership.
- Act as senior escalation point for complex issues, drive root cause analysis, ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards, and produce design documentation and runbooks.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field.
- 10+ years in infrastructure engineering or operations, with at least 3 years in senior storage or data protection engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise SAN/NAS platforms (e.g., Dell PowerMax, NetApp ONTAP) and data protection platforms (e.g., Veritas NetBackup, Dell Networker, Commvault).
- Practical experience with cyber recovery techniques such as immutability, retention lock, air-gapped vaults, and ransomware recovery testing.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Expertise in managing complex, high availability enterprise storage and backup environments preferably in banking or financial services.
- Experienced with automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), scripting (Ansible, Python, PowerShell), and integrating infrastructure automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfortable leading platform consolidation and capacity planning initiatives with strong collaboration across technical and security teams.
