About This Role
- Manage installation, implementation, and performance optimization of large IBM MQ implementations on mainframes.
- Administer and troubleshoot MQ Queue Managers, including clusters, queue sharing groups, and Sysplex environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and on-call support to maintain MQ system security, reliability, and customer business continuity.
Minimum Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Mainframe MQ System Programmer.
- Expertise in MQ for z/OS installation and upgrades using ShopzSeries and SMP/E.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with MQ command line and monitoring tools (e.g., MQ Explorer, Tivoli, Omegamon).
- Work Experience Required: 8+ years in relevant Mainframe MQ system programming roles.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced with MQ clustering, Queue Sharing Groups (QSG), Coupling Facility, and distributed integration in mainframe environments.
- Proficient in MQ security configurations, workload management, and automation scripting (e.g., REXX).
- Capable of independently handling complex MQ system programming tasks including performance tuning, disaster recovery, and multi-team coordination.
