About This Role
- Develop, enhance, and expand Ford’s global monitoring and observability platform focused on uptime, scalability, and maintainability of cloud services.
- Implement and manage SRE monitoring application backends using Golang, Postgres, and OpenTelemetry; develop tooling with Terraform and other IaC tools.
- Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, security compliance, and on-call rotation.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer or similar role.
- Strong programming skills in Golang and familiarity with Terraform Provider development.
- Proficient with monitoring/observability tools (OpenTelemetry preferred) and cloud platforms, especially Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience operating at the intersection of site reliability engineering and software development with a platform engineering mindset.
- Demonstrated capability in building and scaling cloud infrastructure monitoring and automation within GCP environment.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments, managing on-call responsibilities, and contributing to disaster recovery and capacity planning efforts.
