About This Role
- Lead and coach engineering teams to build and maintain cloud-based data pipelines, APIs, integrations, and data services supporting enterprise Direct Business data and compensation systems.
- Drive modernization and technical improvements focusing on architecture, risk reduction, debt retirement, and incremental migration to scalable, secure AWS cloud patterns without disrupting production.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, architecture, security, and business partners to deliver operationally ready, reliable, and AI-enabled systems enhancing data workflows and compensation processing.
Minimum Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise settings with at least 5 years in engineering leadership roles.
- Proven data engineering expertise designing and operating batch and/or event-driven pipelines and data services, with strong SQL and RDBMS skills including data modeling and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Python development (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django) and AWS cloud-native services (e.g., S3, Lambda, RDS, EKS).
- Experience in regulated or financial services environments preferred but not mandatory; work experience required: 12+ years software engineering with leadership.

- Experienced in leading modernization efforts for enterprise, mission-critical systems using incremental migration strategies that maintain production stability.
- Technically hands-on leader able to engage in architecture reviews, incident management, and critical design decisions to guide the team credibly.
- Familiar with cloud-native delivery on AWS, AI-enabled workflow automation, and interdisciplinary collaboration with product and security teams in fast-paced, regulated environments.
