About This Role
- Lead and manage ecological desk studies and preliminary ecological appraisals including data collection and analysis for designated sites/species in UK-based projects.
- Coordinate and deliver ecological reports and assessments, including Environmental Impact Assessments and biodiversity net gain reports, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and biosecurity protocols.
- Develop and implement training plans and contribute to team upskilling; review plans and budgets for medium to large projects while collaborating remotely with UK teams.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Zoology, Ecology, Conservation Biology or relevant environmental field; Ph.D. preferred.
- 10-15 years of professional experience in ecology or related environmental consultancy roles.
- Experience with ecological surveys, species/habitat identification, and environmental legislation compliance (UK or equivalent).
- Ability to work with UK teams remotely; knowledge of UK or European species and environmental regulations is desirable but transferable knowledge considered.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in managing ecological projects involving UK environmental data and legislation or with transferable experience applicable to UK context.
- Strong operational management skills demonstrated by handling medium to large project budgets and deliverables.
- Demonstrates effective cross-border collaboration and communication skills essential for remote work with UK-based teams, including coordinating ecological surveys and reporting.
