About This Role
- Define and drive multi-year technical strategy for enterprise-scale data science and applied ML across multiple product lines.
- Architect and build large-scale ML/statistical systems (forecasting, causal inference, anomaly detection, personalization, GenAI/LLM applications) operating reliably at Walmart scale.
- Serve as top technical escalation point for complex cross-organizational data science problems; mentor senior data scientists and engineers; enforce engineering and scientific rigor.
Minimum Requirements
- 12+ years professional experience in data science, applied ML, or statistics with enterprise-scale production impact.
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Hands-on expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and causal inference; experience with large-scale distributed ML/data systems and strong software engineering skills (Python/Scala/SQL, CI/CD, cloud platforms).
- Work location: Bangalore office with daily onsite presence; Work Experience Required: 12+ years explicitly stated (also alternate degree-based requirements included).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Senior-level individual contributor capable of influencing VP/SVP-level stakeholders and leading technical decisions across multiple teams and markets.
- Proven track record of architecting and operating large-scale, distributed ML/data systems with impact on business metrics at scale, particularly in retail, supply chain, omnichannel commerce.
- Experience with advanced topics such as GenAI/LLMs, responsible AI practices, cross-market data parity, and operating in international market contexts with diverse regulatory constraints.
